Keeping people safe

The nature of our work means that we work with vulnerable people. We make it our top priority to keep them safe at all times.

We have strong safeguarding procedures and practices to ensure that we create safe spaces and keep the children and adults we work with free from harm.

• We follow safer recruitment processes when we recruit staff, freelancers and artists 

• Everyone who works with Afrocats must have an enhanced DBS

• Our staff and volunteers complete safeguarding training

• All staff who work directly with children and young people also receive regular

• Our staff and volunteers follow our safeguarding procedures, policies and guidance
